Description
TERUMO SARNS TCM II Hypothermia
Hypothermia occurs when your body temperature falls well below normal, causing the circulatory, respiratory, and nervous systems to slow down. Normal body temperature is approximately 98.6°F (37°C), and hypothermia is defined as a drop to 96°F (35.5°C) or lower.
While hypothermia often develops gradually, it can also occur rapidly, such as when someone falls through ice into cold water. In these situations, the body loses heat faster than it can generate it. Severe hypothermia may trigger irregular heartbeats, potentially leading to heart failure and death. In the United States, hypothermia and frostbite together account for over 700 deaths annually.
